Slygo Road's second album demonstrates the band's evolving stylistic range with punky ragers reminiscent of the Ramones, latin-inspired scorchers, and classic rock ballads. The band recorded the album at Expanding Sky studios during the summer of 2025 and finished mixing and mastering just before the unexpected and untimely passing of Dan Morrow, the band's Swiss Army knife multi-instrumentalist who played tenor and bari sax, clarinet, keys, and percussion and sang. The title track is one of Dan's finest compositions and a testament to the depth of his character and compassion.
The album features the band's trademark four-part harmonies and versatile musicianship. From the opening track, Hey!, to the closing El Calypso, there's a bit of every rock sub-genre to be enjoyed.
This debut album features an all-original set of tunes that span the rock and blues spectrum with hits of ska, funk, swing, and R&B. Five vocalists who are also top-shelf musicians make this an uncommonly rich album with a solid groove throughout.
Slygo Road is an original rock and blues band made up of five musicians with influences ranging from Room Full of Blues, to Hendrix, to Steely Dan, and Bob Marley. All five members are strong vocalists and they highlight their abilities with rich harmonies, including 5-part chords on the classic swinging blues track, Barfly Baby.
The instrumentation includes drums, bass, guitar, keys and sax that all color inside and outside the lines to deliver flavors from traditional blues to borderline psychedelic. This is an album that wasn't made to pander to commercial tastes; it's all just rock-solid music that draws you from one track to the next.
